CarFax, while offering a good report, charges $40 for their vehicle history report. “Why is that?” you might ask? It’s because CarFax is advertising like crazy, and HAS to cover their advertising costs SOMEHOW. However, There is nothing special about the CarFax Vehicle Vin Number Check; It’s the same as any other Vehicle History Check out there! They (the VinCheck Companies) all pull from the same databases, and they all provide the same information. The difference? The pricing and formatting of the Vehicle Vin Number History Report…
AutoCheck is the “New big kid on the block” . While their Vehicle Vin Number Reports are even Cheaper than CarFax’s (at time of writing this, they’re $30 per Vin Check), $30 is still alot to be paying for a Vehicle Vin Number History Check… However, AutoCheck has this cool feature called the AutoCheck Score; This will “Grade” your car based on its’ Vin History against other cars of the same make/age. Naturally, the higher the score, the better the deal LOOKS to AutoCheck. The reason I say LOOKS is because AutoCheck’s VinCheck does NOT take into consideration the physical status of the vehicle.
Certainly. The cheapest Vin Check i’ve been able to find to get my Car History Report is These guys. They offer a fee Vin Decoder and cheap vehicle check. Their Vin Decoder is actually pretty neat, as we mentioned in our other post about Free Vin Check Reports. So check them out and let us know what you think, And if you ever (let’s hope you don’t) have to deal with their customer service, you will notice that it’s TOP NOTCH customer service! Every time I’ve dealt with them (which hasn’t been often), they’ve been courteous, so I’ve come back to buy more Vehicle History Reports from them.
Yes and No. If you do find a Free Vin Check, you had better use it quick, because it won’t last a while. We’ve got a post about Free Vehicle Vin Number Check Reports that we find. We try to keep that list up to date with the most recent Free Vehicle Check Reports that we can find but we’re doing this for free, so if you find some cool tools, be sure to let us know in the comments section below! Alternatively, you can Check out Amazon’s OBD II Scanners, you will be able to check engine codes and see if there are any hidden issues!
Actually, YES. Vin Decoders are a pretty neat tool, you can look up the Vehicle Make, Model, Engine Size, Transmission, Series (class), Body Style, Entine Type, Country of Origin, Vehicle type, Gross Weight, Body Style, and where the vehicle was assembled. ALL THAT FROM putting a Vin Number in a Decoder! Vin Decoders are a great tool, and luckily, We’ve found a couple great, free ones. We will also be building a Free Vin Decode Feature on our website as soon as our programmer / web developer comes back from his vacation. Meanwhile, check out the couple different Vin Decoders we’ve got listed below and you should be able to get your vin decoded by entering your Vin Number in to the Vin Decoder’s Text Entry Box. Give it a try!
My PERSONAL, cheap-vin-check of choice? In my opinion (now this is MY opinion), it does not make sense to pay $40 for a vin check when you can get the same Vehicle Vin Check Report for ONE QUARTER of that price (yes, that’s 75% off the price!). With the bigger companies like CarFax and AutoCheck, you’re paying 3 times more because of the ‘brand name’… My suggestion, if you’re looking for a reasonably priced Vin Check is, and for the foreseeable future, will be THESE GUYS, as they offer Affordable Vin Check Reports, and they send it to you quick!
